I discovered stretch fabrics, and I must say they are WAY more fun than I expected. They do come with some unique challenges, but knowing your way around a serger is a huge help. I had to do a lot of testing with the fabric I used, and I learned to make a faux-flatlock on my serger.
A faux-flatlock is a serger stitch that’s both decorative and functional. It’s great for lingerie and loungewear because it is perfectly flat on the inside of the garment. On the outside of the garment the seam is a sporty looking decorative chain. To create it on a serger, remove all tension from the needle thread discs, and you might increase the tension on the loopers. You’ll just have to test it out and see what works best on your machine.
